Our Motif

The Flower Motif

Our Flower Motif was kindly designed for us by Five Fish in Whitton. Five Fish are printers and graphic designers in Whitton High Street

It is meant to illustrate our theme of encouraging reuse, recycling and repurposing through supporting second hand goods being sold through the Fair and thus encouraging people to move away from the "buy it - use it - throw it" attitude that still exists.

Everyone taking a stall at the Rotary Fair this year is asked to avoid using non recyclable products. We're making sure there are plenty of recycling bins at the Fair so everyone can help by using them. We are looking at other ways to reduce the impact of the Fair on the environment and will update this as we think of them. We will certainly ask visitors to use public transport or walk if possible!

The centre of the flower is the recycle symbol in a green circle and the flower petals are multi-coloured to indicate our attitude of inclusivity, to encourage everyone who lives or works in the Twickenham area to come to the Fair, no matter their religion, culture, background, ability, sexuality, gender, race, age or anything else. Everyone is welcome.

This is true to the ethos of Rotary in general, respecting every person in the world no matter who they are.

The Flower itself is meant to be cheerful and perhaps indicates something sociable and this is where we would like our Fair to sit - a social event for everyone, good for mental health and good for the environment.
